Canada: Unemployment Rate down to 7.1% in May

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The Canadian Unemployment Rate fell to 7.1% in May, from 7.2% registered in April, Statistics Canada reported on Friday. Market consensus pointed to no change.

The number of employed people in Canada rose to 95K in May from 12.5K in April, well above projections of an increase to 15K.

Labor Productivity grew 0.2% in Q1, up from the 0.1% rise the previous quarter, as expected.
