US equity markets edge higher Monday

FXstreet.com (New York) - The US stock market climbed higher Monday, following the late week hoopla surrounding the US payroll data.

Beginning with the indices and composites, the NASDAQ rose +0.10% as it settles in region of 3472.62, up +3.60 points in these moments. In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in positive territory, operating at 1646.58, ascending +3.02 points or +0.18% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has moved higher at the opening, trading in the zone of 15295.58, presently +0.31% after a movement of +47.46 points.

Sectors are all mixed at the opening, however the Consumer Cyclical and Financial sectors have distinguished themselves as the winners thus far, increasing +0.47% and +0.24% respectively. In other news, the price of crude is testing USD $95.50/bbl Monday. Moreover, the price of gold has settled at $1379.60 per oz., while silver is now negotiating a spot price of $21.78 per oz.

EUR/CHF through 1.2400

The EUR/CHF has been trading over 100 pips higher than the low printed on Friday, gapping up to 1.2365 and steadily drifting to a high of 1.2415 today at time of writing.
