USD/CAD retreats from 1.1500

FXStreet (Córdoba) - During the Asian session USD/CAD reached 1.1500 for the first time since 2009 but it was unable to break higher and pulled back. On European hours bottomed at 1.1458 and then rebounded but found resistance at 1.1485.

The pair was trading at 1.1468, down 0.10% for the day, falling for the first time after rising during the previous three trading days and after posting yesterday the highest close in five years.

USD/CAD levels to watch

To the upside, immediate resistance lies at 1.1485 (intraday level) and above here at 1.1500 (daily high) and 1.1540/50. On the oposite direction, support might lie at 1.1455/60 (daily low), 1.1425 (Dec 8 low) and 1.1385.

Russian Ruble continues its descent

The Russian currency extended losses from the previous session against the greenback, continuing its downside momentum to reach multi year low.
