EUR/AUD back below 1.45 handle

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The single currency resumed its slide against the Australian dollar in the Asian session, after a brief reversal seen in the previous session.

Currently, the EUR/AUD cross trades at 1.4485 levels, down -0.15% on the day, having posted intraday high at 1.4550 levels in the early Asian morning. The EUR/AUD remains under pressure largely on the renewed Aussie strength against the US dollar. Moreover, a persistent weakness in Euro versus the US dollar also continues to weigh on the EUR/AUD cross. The AUD/USD pair trades higher by 0.10% at 0.8165, while EUR/USD trades flat at 1.1828 levels, at time of writing.

EUR/AUD Technical Levels

The pair has an immediate resistance at 1.45 levels, above which gains could be extended to 1.4538 (Dec 12 High) levels. On the flip side, support is seen at 1.4419 levels, from here it to 1.4387 levels.

Russian bonds moving closer to junk – DB

According to Deutsche Bank, Russia bonds are moving closer to junk, and if one more rating agency puts Russian sovereign bonds below investment grade then some forced-selling might be seen in Russian bonds.
