US equities edge higher ahead of FOMC

FXstreet.com (New York) - The US stock market moved slightly higher Wednesday, with the FOMC on tap at 18:00 GMT later today.

Beginning with the indices and composites, the NASDAQ rose +0.21% as it settles in region of 3512.12, up +7.51 points in these moments. In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in positive territory, operating at 1652.96, ascending +0.63 points or +0.04% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has moved higher at the opening, trading in the zone of 15307.48, presently +0.05% after a movement of +7.14 points.

Sectors are all higher at the opening, however the Telecoms and Healthcare sectors have distinguished themselves as the winners thus far, rising +0.46% and +0.31% respectively. Moreover, the price of gold has settled at $1254.58 per oz., while silver is now negotiating a spot price of $19.21 per oz. Wednesday.
