USD/CAD in lows around 1.2460
FXStreet (Edinburgh) - The Canadian dollar is posting gains vs. the US dollar on Friday, with USD/CAD now challenging lows near 1.2460.
USD/CAD attention to US Payrolls, CAD data
The pair will remain under pressure ahead in the session, in light of the release of US labour market data – with Payrolls expected at 240K in February – and Canadian Building Permits and Trade Balance figures.
Collaborating with the bid tone in CAD, the barrel of West Texas Intermediate is hovering over the $51.00 level, up 0.6%.
USD/CAD key levels
At the moment the pair is down 0.35% at 1.2461 with the next support at 1.2407 (low Mar.4) followed by 1.2388 (low Feb.26) and finally 1.2360 (low Feb.17). On the upside, a surpass of 1.2519 (high Mar.5) would target 1.2543 (high Mar.3) and then 1.2549 (high Mar.4).
