AUD/USD trims losses after hitting 6-year low

FXStreet (Córdoba) - AUD/USD staged a sudden bounce off a nearly 6-year low and trimmed intraday losses at the beginning of the American session, moving in tandem with gold prices.

AUD/USD bottomed out at 0.7603 during the European session, dragged down by broad USD strength, but the Aussie managed to recover ground over the last hours, climbing to an hourly high of 0.7673. At time of writing, AUD/USD is trading at 0.7660, still down 0.55% on the day.

AUD/USD technical levels

As for technical levels, if AUD/USD breaks below the 0.7603/00 area, next supports are seen at 0.7500 (psychological level) and 0.7449 (May 18 2009 low). On the other hand, resistances could be faced at 0.7683 (Mar 9 low), 0.7707 (daily high) and 0.7739 (Mar 9 high).
