Rate move is possible at any meeting – Fed’s Evans
FXStreet (Mumbai) - Chicago Fed President Charles Evans said on Thursday that a rate hike is possible at any of the future FOMC meeting, while stating that a 2016 rate hike would be consistent with more confidence on inflation.
Evans is another Fed member who is expecting a bounce after the slowdown witnessed in the first quarter. “Hope we'd see 3% growth in Q2”, said Evans. On whether stock markets are at highs, the policy maker stated “no doubt about that”. His comments on stock markets come a day after Fed Chair. Yellen, who stated the stock markets were overvalued.
