AUD/JPY breaks 96.00 and soars

FXStreet (Córdoba) - A strong aussie pushed AUD/JPY to break the 96.00 barrier. The pair climbed to 96.76, reaching the highest level since January 20. Price remains near the highs as AUD/USD rallies above 0.8100, for the first time in almost four months.

AUD/JPY with more gains ahead?

From a technical perspective, a consolidation on top of 96.00, area that capped the upside during April and last week, could open the doors for more gains in the short term. Momentum remains bullish with the pair looking for the next resistance that could be located around 97.00 and above at 97.65 (January 9, 12 high).

The area around 96.00 has now become the immediate key support followed by 95.30 (May 8 high) and 94.65.
