US: Initial Jobless Claims fell to 334K
FXstreet.com (Edinburgh) -According to the Labour Department, the Americans that filed in their first initial claims for regular state unemployment-insurance benefits fell by 6K last week to a seasonally adjusted 331K in the week ended August 23, above expectations at 329K and coming from 337K (revised) in the previous print.
Continuing claims, which reflect people already receiving benefits, dropped by 14K to a seasonally adjusted 2.989 million in the week ended August 17 vs. 3.003 million in the previous week (revised).
