Eurogroup head signals Greece might need additional support

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Speaking today at the European parliament in Brussels, Eurogroup president Jeroen Dijsselbloem said that Greece will most probably need further rescue funds next year, as the country's situation is still grave and it might not be able to return to debt markets in 2014.

„Against this background, the Eurogroup has clearly indicated that he was determined to provide appropriate support to Greece during the current program and in-beyond, until she regained access to the market,” Dijsselbloem assured.

He added however that the amount of the aid needed would not be known before the first half of 2014 and that speculation on it would be premature. The Eurogroup chief also did not want to comment on what Greece would be required to do in exchange for the bailout, saying that it's "much to early to talk about a new program.”
