BoE keeps rate and bond purchases unchanged

FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - The Bank of England offered no surprises Thursday as it decided to maintain the its key lending rate at a record low of 0.5%, where it has stood since March 2009, and the stock of asset purchases at £375 billion.

The BoE has said it aims to keep rates low at least until the UK unemployment rate drops below 7%, which it doesn't expect will happen until 2016.

The minutes from the September 4 meeting will be published on Wednesday, September 18.
