AUD/USD breaks 0.9400, hits fresh lows

FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - The AUD/USD came under pressure and dropped below the 0.9400 mark Tuesday, erasing previous day's gains on its way to fresh lows.

AUD/USD fell to a low of 0.9372 during the European session as dollar buying intensified following disappointing Eurozone and UK data. However, the AUD/USD found support at the 10-day SMA and bounced from lows in recent dealings.

AUD/USD levels to watch

At time of writing, AUD/USD is trading at the 0.9380 zone, still 0.5% below its opening price. If AUD/USD breaks decisively below the 0.9370 zone, next supports could be found at the 0.9335/30 zone (Sep 18 low/100-day SMA) and 0.9300 (psychological level), while on the flip side, resistances are now seen at 0.9430 (100-hour SMA) and 0.9456 (Sep 19 & 23 highs).

In a speech at Northumbria University today, David Miles – member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee – argued that, while recent improvements in economic data are welcome, the slack in the economy generated by several years of underperformance means that people should not expect monetary policy to quickly return to normal.
