UK GDP grows 0.5 per cent in Q4 matching estimates

FXStreet (Mumbai) - UK GDP grew 0.5 per cent quarter on quarter in Q4 compared to 0.4 per cent growth seen in the previous quarter. Year on year, GDP grew 1.9 per cent in Q4, slower than 2.1 per cent growth recorded earlier. Both quarter and quarter and year on year figures matched broad market expectations.

Output increased in 2 of the main industrial groupings within the economy in Quarter 4 (Oct to Dec) 2015. Services increased by 0.7% and agriculture increased by 0.6%. In contrast, production decreased by 0.2%, while construction output decreased by 0.1%.
