US: Light data calendar with focus on Fed-speak - TDS

Research Team at TDS, suggests that today it’s a very light data calendar means we again focus on Fed-speak.

“An panel discussion in New York will bring together four generations of Fed Chairs: Yellen, Bernanke, Greenspan and Volcker. The discussion is set to begin at 1730 EST. Also on the calendar is KC President George, the lone dissenting vote in March, who will be speaking publicly for the first time since the March meeting, though her remarks will not come until 2115 EST.

On the data front, initial jobless claims are expected to decline following a sharp increase last week. TD looks for weekly claims to slide to 261k from 276k while the market is calling for a more modest decline to 270k. Consumer credit for February is due at 1500 EST. TD looks for credit to grow by $16.4bn, which is above the market consensus for a $14.9bn expansion.”
