Nasdaq first close above 4,000 since the DotCom crash

FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - Wall Street traded higher on Tuesday as investors are confidence the Federal Reserve will maintain the status quo through the 1Q 2014. The Nasdaq Composite achieved an old milestone as the Composite closed above 4,000 for first time in 13 years.

Stocks came off highs in the last hour and closed flat on the day as investors took profit ahead Wednesday 'last' practical trading in November before Thanksgiving and investors are aware of the end-month rebalance.

The Dow Jones advanced for third day and gained 0.26 points to close the day at 16,072.80; The S&P traded on consolidation day above the 1,800 key level and after advancing 0.27 pts or 0.01% the index finished the day at 1,802.75.

The Nasdaq added 23.18 pts or 0.58% on the day to close above the 4,000 level for first time since the DotCom crash at 4,017.75. The Composite is performing +33.06% YTD.

GBP on the 1.62 handle

GBP/USD has breached 1.62 and is attempting territory in 1.6220.
