US stocks end lower amid rate hike prospects

US stocks closed lower on Thursday a day after FOMC minutes showed June rate hike is “likely” in the view of Fed’s members.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 91.22 points, or 0.52%, at 17,435.40, although it managed to cut losses in half from session lows. The S&P 500 Index lost 7.59 points, or 0.37%, at 2,040.04. The Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 26.59 points, or 0.56%, to close at 4,712.53.
