Canada: CPI rises 1.5% annual basis in June
Canadian consumer price index rose 1.5% from a year earlier in June, Statistics Canada said Friday, exceeding slightly expectations of a 1.4% increase.
Meanwhile, the so called core CPI, which excludes volatile items such as food and energy, rose 2.1% in the same period, just above the 2.0% of forecast.
On a monthly basis, headline CPI rose 0.2% in June, while core inflation remained flat, against expectations of 0.1% and 0.0% respectively.
