GBP/USD: awaiting Fed minutes - Scotiabank

Analysts at Scotiabank explained GBP is outperforming most of the G10 with a mixed performance against its G4 peers in this environment of broad-based USD strength.

Key Quotes:

"U.K. wage and employment data were in line with expectations (4.9% unemployment rate, 2.4% average weekly earnings 3M y/y) and the impact on GBP was limited.

Domestic risk will remain elevated into the end of the week as we look to Thursday’s retail sales for July, however the near-term risk is likely to center on the release of Fed minutes at 2:00pm ET."
