US: Durable goods, pending home sales and jobless claims in focus - TDS
Research Team at TDS, looks for the US headline durable goods orders to decline by 0.7% m/m in September due to a sizeable drop in defense aircraft orders, which is well below the consensus for a flat print.
Key Quotes
“Excluding the volatile transportation sector, we look for orders to post a more modest 0.2% decline due to tepid manufacturing data; markets are expecting a 0.2% m/m gain in ex-transport orders.
Meanwhile, we expect pending home sales for August to be stronger than the market consensus of 1.0% m/m with a 1.6% monthly advance.
Lastly, TD is in line with the market for initial jobless claims and projects a slight pullback to 255k after last week’s unanticipated jump to 260k.”
