AUD/USD briefly rises above 0.7700

 

AUD/USD pushed higher and briefly climbed above the 0.77 mark to hit its highest level in almost two weeks.

With market sentiment improving, AUD/USD managed to reach a fresh high of 0.7707, last seen on Oct 26, but the Aussie stalled  roughly at the same level it did that day. AUD/USD has given up a few pips since, and it was last trading around 0.7692, still up 0.26% on the day.

Investors attention now turn to US presidential election, with latest polls showing the outcome will likely be a close call.

AUD/USD technical levels

As for technical levels, next resistances line up at 0.7700 (psychological level), 0.7734 (Oct 20 high) and 0.7748 (Aug 16 high). On the other hand, supports are seen at 0.7651 (Nov 4 low), 0.7629 (20-day SMA) and 0.7605 (50-day SMA).
