It makes sense to discuss rates hike now – Fed’s Tarullo

Daniel Tarullo (permanent voter, dovish) said on Tuesday that it seems appropriate to have a discussion on rates hike now, although he advocated for a cautious debate.

Tarullo also said that the Fed probably faces more external risks than internal, while he noted that the US has an unusual recovery from recession.

Tarullo declined to comment whether he would stay at the Fed under Trump’s presidency.
