USD/CAD remains capped by 1.0970

FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - The USD/CAD managed to push higher and retested daily highs during the American afternoon in a pretty quiet session due to the US holiday.

The USD/CAD rose more than 40 pips throughout the session and peaked at 1.0971 matching its Asian high, although it lost momentum and failed to sustain gains. At time of writing, the USD/CAD is trading at the 1.0960 zone, virtually unchanged since opening.

USD/CAD technical levels

As for technical levels, the USD/CAD could face next resistances at 1.0971 (Jan 20 high), 1.0990 (Jan 15 high) and 1.1000 (psychological level). On the other hand, supports are seen at 1.0930 (Jan 20 low), 1.0904 (Jan 16 low) and 1.0890 (10-day SMA).
