UK: Claimant Count Change down 24K in December
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The number of unemployed people in the UK fell by 24K in December, following a 34.3K drop registered in November, National Statistics reported on Wednesday. Analysts expected a 35K decrease. The Claimant Count Rate was at 3.7%, following a 3.8% reading.
The ILO Unemployment Rate slid to 7.1% in December, from 7.4% in November.
Average Earnings excluding Bonus rose 0.9% in the three months to December, following a +0.8% reading in the three months to November, as expected. Average Earnings including Bonus increased 0.9%, following 0.9% growth, slightly below projections of +1.0%.
