China is World’s top oil importer

China became the World’s top oil importer in March, after importing 9.21 million barrels a day, up 11% from February, the data released on Thursday showed. 

The Bloomberg report showed, “Shipments during the first quarter rose 15 percent to almost 105 million tons, or about 8.5 million barrels a day. The US imported almost 8.15 million during the first three months.”

PBOC set the Yuan mid-point rate at 6.8740

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) set the Yuan mid-point rate at 6.8740 vs. Thursday's fix of 6.8651.
