India oil demand returned to growth in April

India’s oil demand returned to growth in April as the world’s fastest growing economy recovers from the effects of the cash crunch caused by the government’s demonetization move to tackle corruption.

India’s fuel consumption increased by 3.3% to 16.79 million tons last month, Bloomberg data released on Friday showed. Diesel use rises 2.8%, gasoline usage grows 4.5%.

India’s oil consumption had dropped 5.9% in Jan, 3.1% in Feb and 0.7% in March.
