EUR/USD was upset by Weidmann comments

FXStreet (Moscow) - EUR/USD rushed to 1.3804 session low, but stumbled recovering to1.3810 at the moment.

Weidmann scares bulls

The euro finally started to react to comments from BUBA President Weidmann on consequences of strong national currency. The pair broke below 1.3825 central pivot point for today, and rushed to session low at 1.3804 with 1.3773 support level in sight. The ECB official reminded about the recent Draghi’s comment on price stability, but focused mostly on negative rates as a tool to combat strong euro. But he also noted that are only “hypthetical scenarios”, not “imminent decisions”.

What are today’s key EUR/USD levels?

Today's central pivot point can be found at 1.3825, with support below at 1.3773, 1.3797 and 1.3655, with resistance above at 1.3891, 1.3943, and 1.4009. Hourly Moving Averages are largely bullish, with the 200SMA at 1.3866 and the daily 20EMA flat at 1.3816. Hourly RSI is neutral at 59.

EUR/NOK approaches previous high at MA cross

Currently, EUR/NOK is trading at 8.3391, up 0.13% on the day, having posted a daily high at 8.3485 and low at 8.3203.
