Obama and Merkel urge Russia to move troops back from border

FXStreet (Bali) - Obama and Merkel, have had a phone call about Ukraine, again calling on Russia to move troops back from border, reports Reuters, according to White House officials.

From Reuters: "Obama told Merkel that US, EU and other global partners need to be ready to meet further Russian escalation with additional sanctions. White house also said that Moscow appears to be supporting pro-russian separatists in orchestrated campaign of incitement and sabotage to destabilize Ukraine.

The headline may no helping sentiment in Asia, which remains quite negative, with the Nikkei 225 at -2.5%.
