Indian elections could boost oil prices - Bloomberg

Indian general elections – the largest democratic exercise on Earth scheduled for May 2019 – could boost oil prices. 

About 875 million Indians voters will be courted by competing political parties in the lead up to the polls, resulting in an increase in gasoline and diesel demand by as much as 80,000 barrels per day, according to Singapore-based Facts Global Energy. 

The world's fastest growing economy is already consuming 75,000 barrels and 100,000 barrels of gasoline and diesel, respectively, per day.
