US stocks losing momentum, Europe ends with gains
FXStreet (Córdoba) - Wall Street is falling moderately after a positive opening while in Europe main indexes finished with gains.
The FTSE 100 rose 0.43%, while the Dax climbed 0.74% and the Cac 40 0.72%. In the US, equities failed to hold to gains and now are falling. The Dow Jones is down 0.18%, the Nasdaq losses 0.36% and the S&P 500 retreats 0.15%.
The start of the day is gold that is rising more than 3% or $42, to $1,315. Crude oil is rising modestly, 0.24% trading at $106.20 a barrel.
Among economic data, in the US the Philly Fed index rose from 15.4 to 17.8 in June, the highest level since last September, while the leading economic index climbed 0.5%. Initial jobless claims fell in line with expectations by 6,000 to 312,000.
