BI expected to reduce rates further on Tuesday – UOB

Lee Sue Ann, Economist at UOB Group, believes the Bank of Indonesia (BI) is expected to cut rates at Tuesday’s meeting.

“With inflation brisk rather muted at this juncture and within the target range of 2%-4%, BI may cut policy rate by another 25 bps to 4.25% in April’s monetary policy meeting. It is likely to be the last rate cut for 2020, bringing the 7-Day Reverse Repo rate back to its lowest point before the 175 bps monetary policy tightening in 2018”.
