WH adviser Kudlow: No question there will be a painful coronavirus contraction

There will need to be some pro-growth incentives for the US economy, White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow told Fox News on Tuesday. 

"No question there will be a painful coronavirus contraction," Kudlow added. "We need to wait and see on any payroll protection program changes to relax rules."

Market reaction

The US Dollar Index, which tracks the greenback's performance against a basket of six major currencies, ignored these comments and was last seen losing 0.17% on the day at 99.45.
