GBP/JPY unchanged around 173 handle

FXStreet (Guatemala) - GBP/JPY is trading at 173.03, down -0.11% on the day, having posted a daily high at 173.22 and low at 173.01.

The Nikkei has opened up 0.27% and GBP/JPY trades around the 173 handle still. Japan provided a number of data release prior to the open in Tokyo which although were a non event in whole, they can be read about here in a snap shot written by Ivan Delgado, Head of Asian Editors at FXStreet. Not included there were the retail data that were a positive surprise to the upside for Japan in May. Meanwhile, GBP/JPY spot is in neutral territory according to the hourly FXStreet OB/OS Index, while the FXStreet Trend Index is slightly bullish. RSI is in neutral territory at 44.61, down from it’s last hourly close at 52.44, while ADX is ranging above 30 at 29.45, up from 14.65 at the last hourly close.

With spot trading at 173.04, we can see next resistance ahead at 173.21 (Hourly 100 SMA), 173.22 (Daily Open), (Daily High) and 173.27 (Hourly 200 SMA). Support below can be found at 173.01 (Daily Low), 173.01 (Weekly Low), 173.00 (Daily Classic PP), 172.83 (Weekly Classic S1) and 172.68 (Daily Classic S1).
