Fed's Kaplan: Could adjust my views if Delta has more negative effect on GDP

Dallas Fed President Robert Kaplan told Fox Business Network that a big imponderable for the economy is the path of the Delta virus. "So far it's not having a material effect on consumer activity like dining out but it is having an effect in delaying return to the office, it's affecting the ability to hire workers because of fear of infection," he further explained, per Reuters.

"If Delta is having a more negative effect on the GDP growth, it could cause me to adjust my views," Kaplan added. "A big economic variable is how quickly to get people vaccinated."
