US: New Home Sales rise by 1.5% in August to 740,000

New Home Sales in the US increased by 1.5% on a monthly basis in August to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 740,000, the data published jointly by the US Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development showed on Friday. 

"The median sales price of new houses sold in August 2021 was $390,900," the publication further read. "The average sales price was $443,200."

Market reaction

The US Dollar Index showed no immediate reaction to this report and was last seen rising 0.23% on the day at 93.29.
