Kremlin spokesperson: Russia does not use its energy resources as a weapon

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reported on Friday that Russia does not use its oil and gas resources as a weapon, as reported by Reuters.

Commenting on US President Joe Biden's National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan's remarks about Russia having a history of using energy as a tool of coercion and a political weapon, "we are convinced that this is a wrong assessment," the spokesperson said.

Peskov further noted that sanctions threats from the US against energy projects may contribute to the destabilisation of the energy market in Europe.
